School board seeks candidates

There are more opportunities for citizens to be involved in local government as Cook County School District 166 seeks candidates for three school board seats up for election in November.  Rod Wannebo was appointed to the late Jane Mianowski’s seat, and that term will be up the first Monday of January 2009. 

Incumbent Leonard Sobanja’s term will be up next January as well.  He represents District 4. 
Eric Kemp was appointed to fill Brian Sherburne’s District 1 seat after Sherburne’s resignation earlier this year.  That seat has two years left, and the person to fill it will be elected for that time.
Those interested in filing for school board may do so any time from August 25 to September 9.
