Wednesday is "Friends Day" on Arrowhead Transit in Cook County. WTIP volunteer Tracy Benson spoke with Arrowhead Transit marketing coordinator Larry Rodgers about a special offer in Cook County enabling friends to ride free on Wednesdays.

Arrowhead Transit provides public transportation in all 8 counties of Minnesota's Arrowhead region.  The service is provided by the Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency (AEOA) and is the largest rural public transportation system in Minnesota.  To learn more, visit  http://arrowheadtransit.com/services/cook-county/

Wednesday is Friends Day

Bring a friend with you on the bus on Wednesday, and your friend rides free! You and your friend need to be picked up at the same place and dropped off at the same place to qualify for this free ride.

M-F  9 am – 12 noon & 1 pm – 4 pm
Sun 8:30 am – 12:30 pm.
Contact Arrowhead Transit at least an hour in advance to schedule a pick up time and specific drop off site.

The dispatcher will ask for:

  • Name and phone number.
  • Time and exact location of pickup.
  • Destination address. (where you want to go)
  • Number of people traveling with you.
  • The exact time of any appointments.
  • Return trip information.
