We have reset the tracks and tried to hide the pine needles on the entire pioneer loop and the eastern portion of Deeryard.  SKiing is very good at DYL and fair to good on Pioneer/Ridge.  Enjoy the wonderful, sunny spring skiing we have had for the past 2 weeks, it is a great experience!  Expect spring like conditions with icing in the mornings.

Ski trails were all groomed this morning.  Best skiing is at Deeryard.  May need to walk in about 150 yards from trail heads near the lake.  Tree down at DYL broke chainsaw.  We will clean up next week on our grooming run.

Skiers are reminded that dogs are prohibited from being on any GIA trail.  All of the DYL and trails near Cascade River's West side are GIA trails.  Dogs are not allowed because they bother other skiers, messy up the trails and ruin our freshly laid tracks.  Please observe this rule and respect your fellow skiers!

Trails were power tilled with pisten bully and are in perfect skiing condition--other than dog damage.

The groomers have reset all tracks on DYL system including Short loop and Fire-tower runs.  The Pioneer loop is also open.  Ridge run is not in very good shape nor is skiing for the first 150 yards near Cascade Lodge entrance.  Our snow is holding up remarkably well.

The grooming crew spent a full two days clearing trees off the DYL loop and they are setting two tracks down today.  We will be grooming the main DYL loop, the firetower section and the Pioneer legs--east and west.  We to not have Ridge run, or short loop cleared yet.  Those sections that are groomed are skiing very good to excellent.

Cascade/Deeryard Lake—Packed Powder, very good to excellent conditions.
Trails Open:      Pioneer, Ridge Run, Deeryard, Short Loop, Fire Tower
Date Groomed: 1/15/10
Groomed km:   27km
Base:    2-12 Inches
New Snow:      About 2 inches
Groomers Comments: We set new tracks using our Ginzu Groomer on the entire system. We tried to hold closer spacing on the Deeryard Loop so that skating is not possible and traditional skiers can ski without obstructions. With 2 separate machines this is very difficult. I skied the loops and found it to be some of the best skiing in the area for classic.
