The JOAN DRURY AWARD is named after an extraordinary community member and a Violence Prevention Center co-founder, Joan Drury, who dedicated her life to feminism, justice, advocacy, and equity for women, girls, and LGBTQ2IA+ individuals. Joan Drury was a longtime volunteer at the Violence Prevention Center and was someone who truly lived the mission and vision of the Violence Prevention Center throughout her entire life.
This award recognizes one individual & one local business/organization that works toward fostering gender equity through one or more of the following:- Volunteerism
- Community Commitment
- Personal Awareness
- Promotes Education, Awareness, and Outreach
- Philanthropy
The award will be presented by the Violence Prevention Center at our May 19th Film Fundraiser Event.
