The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a Special Weather Statement for near-critical fire conditions for all of NE Minnesota on Saturday, March 22, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Winds out of the southeast and decreasing relative humidity, combined with dry fuels, can cause any outdoor fires to spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended, and burning permits are required for any location in Minnesota.
A Winter Storm Warning and a Winter Weather Advisory have been issued for Cook and Lake Counties and the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Tribal Lands.
