Chronic pelvic pain is a complex and often debilitating condition that can affect individuals of all ages and backgrounds. It can be caused by a variety of factors, including: Women: Often related to conditions like endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, or childbirth-related trauma. Men: Chronic pelvic pain in men can be linked to prostate issues or chronic prostatitis. Individuals with pelvic surgery or trauma: Any surgery or injury to the pelvic region can lead to long-term pain and discomfort. Chronic health conditions: Conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), interstitial cystitis, or fibromyalgia may contribute to pelvic pain. Athletes: Repetitive strain from high-impact sports or improper posture can lead to pelvic pain. Older adults: Age-related changes in the pelvic floor muscles and tissues may contribute to chronic pain in the pelvic region.
