From Cook County Public Health and Human Services - April 10, 2025
Parents, grandparents, caregivers, and community members are invited to join Heather and Randy Bacchus as they share their family’s story and shed light on the possible effects of high-potency cannabis on the developing teen brain. After losing their son to cannabis-induced psychosis and suicide, they have dedicated themselves to educating others about the potential risks of today’s cannabis and empowering youth and families with knowledge and support - as well as reminding them that they are important, valued, and loved.
This event is an opportunity to ask questions, gain insights, and prepare for meaningful conversations with the young people in your life. The following day, local schools will offer the Be Extraordinary, Be You presentation to teens, making this a valuable chance for adults to engage with the topic in advance.
Before the presentation, join us for a social hour anytime between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. A light Subway dinner will be provided for all attendees. Registration is requested.
Contact the Cook County YMCA to learn more about 'Date Night' childcare during and after this event.
